S.A.L.T. Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

My wife and I had our first trip to S.A.L.T. during Green Bay restaurant week. It was a delightful experience. We arrived right on time for our reservation and the host invited to have a drink at the bar if we liked. Out table was ready, but we accepted the suggestion. After allowing us to order our drinks and chat for a few minutes and the host followed up to see if we were ready for our meal. It was perfectly timed. Did they get more money out of us? Yes. Did I appreciate not being rushed on a Friday night? Immensely. I was almost disappointed to be there for restaurant week as the regular menu had a lot of items I was interested in, but our meals were fantastic--a Hoisin glazed salmon for my wife and a flat iron steak for me. The wine list is quirky and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed a Cabernet Franc from New York State and were not constantly having our glasses topped off (which I HATE) by our server. Service is what I really want to emphasize here. The service industry in the Valley is, in my experience, not very good. That said, we had the best service in any restaurant in the Valley in the last year at S.A.L.T. I will absolutely be back.

After boycotting S.A.L.T for nearly 2 years due to my perception of a pretentious wanna be atmosphere and not willing to support a community fundraiser, I was invited to meet some friends there this past Saturday. What a difference a few years make! :) The staff was professional and appreciative. We were there on Saturday 4/18/2015. Jimmy was extremely attentive and gracious. He deserves 98% of the credit for my turn around in my perception. Extremely freindly and engaging while being genuine. Made us feel exceptionally welcome and the food was outstanding. We had the Calamari, A chefs salad and pork tostados that were to die for - simply delic! Glad I went thank you S.A.L.T. for providing a warm and gracious atmosphere making us want to return!

Love the atmosphere, love the food, and love the service! Never disappointed here! Sunday brunch is fantastic too!!! All around a great place to go

Visiting Green Bay for the week. Everyone says the portions are too small, when if fact, the portions are the proper size for a 3 course dinner. Everything was wonderful! Beer (hefeweizen guest tap from ale asylum in Madison) , diver scallops, flat iron steak, and creme brulee. Everything was cooked how I asked and to perfection. Full of flavor, and loved the atmosphere. An amazing, relaxing experience.

I thought overall the meal was ok I had the flat iron steak. Not a whole lot of steak and the steak had little flavor. I did have the lamb and bean soup and that was very good

Wonderful and eccentric dining. We ate outdoors and I couldn't get enough of the calm rustic ambiance. The food was nothing short of delicious. Quite pricey, but I'm a firm believer in the "you get what you pay for" theory. The portions are small, but only because America has adapted to a 'quantity over quality' dining ritual. The portions here are what we should all actually be dining on. Who really needs 3 pounds of steak on one single plate, honestly? Overall, excellent experience and one that I cannot wait to relive!

We love going to S.A.L.T. The atmosphere is inviting and relaxing, and the menu always has a little something new on it. The servers and bartending staff are very personable, and they add to the dining experience. If you get the opportunity to visit in the summer / early fall, take advantage of their fabulous patio! PS - S.A.L.T. is now serving lunch, and I'm looking forward to trying it with some co-workers very soon! (I'm certain we will not want to go back to the office...)

Interior is nice by Green Bay (or De Pere) standard, food is inventive and great. Service top notch. I would think the top three places in Green Bay ( bistro is actually in De Pere). Prices great compared to Milwaukee. If I didn't live in the big city, I'd be here once a week.

One of the best restaurant in De Pere/Green Bay. Food is awesome and yummy.. Visited the resultant everyday for dinner either for lunch. staff is very friendly ...

I have had dinner here as well as just stopped in for dessert. I like to try a place a couple times before I review it, and this place hits the nail on the head. The atmosphere is great, the service is fast and responsive, and the food/drinks are nice. It is a little on the fancier side from appearance however don't let that fool you. The customer group was a mix of Jeans and t's to dress pants and shirts. The food came fast, was correct, and tasted good. The variety is good, and suits the area. I would bring people here for a good time. The drinks are fantastic. Ask for their night cap White Russian and prepare to be wowed!! It is a fantastic take on the drink! The staff are friendly, know how to please a customer, and go the extra mile to make sure your happy. Make sure to leave a good tip, they are worth it! I will be back here again!

Wow. I am totally amazed with this place. We ordered the SALT Sampler and that in itself was totally yummy. All the flavors worked perfectly together. Hubby and I both ordered the Beef Tenderloin- a must have. So worth the price. It just melts in your mouth. Did I mention the Dark 'n' Stormy?? Amazing drink. Gosling's rum, fresh lime, ginger beer and served in a copper mug- must have. Dessert was ok- we got the Salted caramel ice cream- it had a shot of scotch in it- it can do without that- ruined the dessert. Overall we will return- very happy with our dinner.

Great experience at Salt today. Drove my daughter back to St Norbert and was delighted to stumble onto this find. Every entree was loaded with flavor and freshness. Great ambience and super cool wait staff, too! Give it a try!

Not impressed. It's quite pretentious. The food was only eh. I had a really good red blend but it's pretty pricey. It's loud and crowded on the inside. We ate outside on the patio which is really pretty but you get quite a bit of traffic noise. I would pay the money they charge if the food was better. A disappointment.

Both of those stars are for the high quality ingredients. The flavor profiles are good and the food is well presented. The space is pretty nice too. I gave it two stars, but I still think this goes on the list of restaurants to visit if you're in Green Bay. The bartender is a dick. Me: "I'm torn between the 'beeramisu' and the Nutella pot de creme, which would you recommend?" Bartender: "How should I know? I've never met you before." End of conversation? Are you getting snarky with me? Can you at least describe them to me? "Beeramisu" and Nutella pot de creme aren't exactly typical dessert choices. In case you're wondering, I got the "beeramisu". It was gross. :( Count on your food taking a really long time to get out and being cold by the time it hits the table. To the owner: A brief analysis of readily available Yelp data reveals that every negative review mentions an asshole bartender. He's the guy with a beard and dark short hair and a necktie tucked in between the buttons of his shirt. Just sayin'.

Ate at SALT last night. In town on biz for one night, and Yelped it (of course)! Walking distance from my hotel, nice, kind of eclectic ambiance. Food was very, very good. Server was efficient and professional, but very stiff and unfriendly. I had the "Bowl of Brown"...kind of a thick rich chicken stew...like a chicken soup reduction. And the Pork Shank...fell off the bone, over grits. Main gripe, otherwise I'd have given 4 stars, was their weird Spirits List. I'm a martini guy (classic 007 style), and they had no list of martinis, and they served the drink in a highball glass like it was single malt whisky. They had a nice variety of gins, all priced between 5 and 7 dollars... but the waitress had no idea if that was per ounce, per shot, or per martini! I had two TINY "child sized" martinis (about 3 or 4 oz in an 8 oz glass) and was charged $11 each???

In an effort to try all the hip, delicious restaurants of Green Bay - we decided to try SALT out one blustery fall day. Overall, it seems like the quality is pretty good - it's just that the TERRIBLE service and expensive prices don't match up. Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to spend some $$$ on good food and even better dining experience. When we walked out after dropping $100 for 2 people, I was underwhelmed. Apps or "small plates" are so small that it barely even feeds one person and averages $6-10. I had the grits which everybody suggested, but at $10 for a small cup, it hardly satisfied. We went for an assorted variety of small and medium plates, and they were good, but it took a really long time to order, really long time to come up, and excruciating long time to get drink refills and settle the check. Overall it just didn't feel worth it. There are easily five other local restaurants that are about the same price and have much better food and service.

  • Up S.

It's as good as advertised. We split the Poutine which is absolutely delicious. We decided to try one larger entree...the pork schnitzel was amazing! Salty, sweet, sour, but simple ingredients. The drinks are average at best but the food more than makes up for it. Why wouldn't you go there if you were in the Depere area?

First, let me address 2 recurring review themes: 1) this place is expensive and 2) the portions are small. It's not expensive. My party of 3 paid $195 for 2 drinks, a bottle of wine, every cheese and charcuterie on the menu, tampenade, a small plate starter and 3 large plate dinners. Secondly, how much food can you people put away? I know this is Wisco and all, but geez. No one at our table finished dinner. The scallop dinner included 5 diver scallops and a cup of risotto, there was about 6-8 ozs of trout and easily a cup and a half of the pasta dish. With that said, Salt is a 3 star place. Sure it's "hip" (for green bay) and the atmosphere is pretty chill, but the food is average. The entire menu is heavily influenced by WI and while I appreciate the attempt to source local, I also enjoy lighter fare options. I have lived here 2 years and would live to see less brats, cheese curds, beer soup and fried everything. Moving on...the charcuterie and cheeses were plated nicely and although nothing jumped out at us, the meat had nice flavor and there was a variety of cheeses for every pallette. SALT executed the small plate tostados well, with ample guacamole. However, the main dishes failed. the rainbow trout wasn't very fresh and over cooked. I prefer the northern Italian version of ragu, where the meat is ground or chopped finely but my lamb and veal ragu was typical of what you would find in southern italy with large chunks of meat (although that meat is usually removed and served separately). The meat wasn't as tender as it should be in a ragu :( Lastly, 3 of the 5 diver scallops were luke warm. We prefer them seared hot but not overcooked. All in all, the menu looked good but pure execution made the experience an average one.

Aaaaaaaamazing!!!! Our meal was pretty perfect. Drinks, food, service, and prices- all top notch! Thank you for the great date night away from the kids. We will definitely be back. Thanks Matt, our awesome waiter!

Great meal (sat at bar around 8 PM on a Friday night)!! Nachos, fried green tomatoes, risotto, and pork shank. Excellent beer list, too.

I've been to this place twice now, once for dinner and once for drinks. Both times I was underwhelmed. First, the dinner experience. The service was....haphazard. Not unfriendly, but the waitress was trying really, really hard to be Bohemian and quirky which got a little old. I'd just like my drink, please! We ordered the apples and cheese plate for an appetizer. The cheese was good, but there were literally 4 tiny pieces along with less than a third of a granny smith apple and a couple of crackers. I get that this is small plate-but it was $8. Our meals were fine. I had a sandwich and soup and both were passable. We had dinner early, and finished fairly quickly when the food finally arrived, so decided to have another drink and chat. It took an extremely long time to get the second drink, and when it was less than half gone the server informed us that the people who had our table for the next reservation were at the bar. The impression I got was "You need to hurry up and leave." which I did not appreciate since we had been at the table for barely over 60 minutes and half the reason we were still there was slow service. Second experience was drinks only. Service at the bar was ridiculous. No one could get the bartender's attention and then he behaved as though serving us was somehow beneath him. If you don't want to serve drinks, don't be a bartender. The cocktails are overpriced. The location is great, and the space is nice, but I won't be back. If for no other reason than that S.A.L.T -while written as an acronym -apparently doesn't stand for anything, and that's just some pretentious B.S. in my opinion.

Chose S.A.L.T. solely based on what was close according to Yelp and could not have been more satisfied. The Bigger Bloody Mary was indeed larger in beverage size than most but the the garnish was a bit lean. The use of goat cheese was brilliant. Mix was spicier than many may like, but perfect for me, albeit a bit thick. Cute Miller beer in a 7 oz bottle for a chaser although I usually prefer to choose my own. Coffee was good quality and very drinkable without sugar or cream, the way I prefer it. I had the pastrami hash which I would not necessarily have ordered based on the name alone. The inclusion of duck eggs in the description sealed the deal for me. The pastrami had a nice smoked flavor and the hash was crispy. The dish was served with home style bread and micro green salad. The bread was ideal for soaking up the duck yolk and the eggs were excellently prepared. We sat in the pub area. As I am a bit short, I like the height of pub tables. The garage doors were up to make the most of a sunny Wisconsin morning. Love the tin ceiling and old wood bar. There is a second bar and main dining area with an eclectic mix of tables and chairs. S.A.L.T. also features cozy patio seating with a fire feature. The service was superb. Server was friendly and appropriately attentive. Am looking forward to checking it out for dinner.

Wow. Thank you for finally adding a culinary gem to the GB area. I'm always in search for a nice new spot with creative eats and craft cocktails. See you for my next trip home! Veal was amazing. Moscow mule hit the spot.

My friend and I visited SALT for dinner. After hearing mixed reviews, we wanted to give it a try. We had mixed feelings. It's a cute, hip place that seems to fit right into DePere, but the service and attitude of some of the employees leaves something to be desired. We sat at the bar to start with a drink. Their wine/beer selection is extensive. We told the bartender that we also wanted to eat. He told us that we needed to "find the man in the blue plaid shirt and tell him." I was shocked. I have NEVER been to a restaurant where I have had to hunt someone down and ask for a table. That put an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Once we were seated, we decided to order the sample plate ($12), which had a nice selection of hummus, cheese, bread, goat sausage and dipping sauce. That was the best part of the meal. My friend ordered a $14 hamburger and the roll was so hard that she couldn't even eat it. ($14 for a burger is a bit extreme). I ordered the Beef-Kim plate ($15) which excited me because it had steak and avocado. I was slightly disappointed. The steak was good, (although cold), but the avocado was extremely bland (in a previous review, someone mentioned that for a restaurant called SALT, they sure don't use any) and I couldn't agree more!! My rice cake was also bland, yet the salad and veggies that was on top had a nice flavor. I would've tried dessert if my dinner would've been out of this world, but I decided to save my money. The prices aren't too bad, but don't go here expecting to get a 5 star meal or superb service. The presentation of the plates was top notch, but there are personalities and things that could use some work.

Aside from the nice decor this place has absolutely nothing to offer. I am willing to spend $$ on good food but that's the problem here-the food sucks. The service sucks. It screams douchebag all over. Bad food that is also overpriced? Um, no thanks. This place tries so desperately that it's embarrassing. SKIP IT.

  • Natasha O.

Have been twice with 3 or 4 ppl, like that the menu changes and ordering by plate size. Great for sharing. Mussels, charcuterie, pickles and smears all excellent. Great selection of craft beers and spirits.

We went for my birthday dinner to experience this new place we had heard so much about!! The beer list and atmosphere is impressive--definitely a must on hot summer afternoons! Menu and food is beyond disappointing-did not really understand the 'concept' of the menu, but even the quality and presentation was sub-par. The dining experience was an eclectic mess.

  • Matt K.

Great food with something different than pretty much every other place offers. I took the advice of one of the other reviews and ordered the shrimp and grits, which was excellent! I loved the atmosphere and the outdoor decor was enjoyable. Overall a great experience with good service.

SALT is a great find in Green Bay, the atmosphere is great and the food was exceptional. Our waiter was also very attentive and they have a good selection of draft beer. However, somewhere along the lines, the prices did not match up for us with the service. While our waiter was great, it took a very long time to get our food, easily over 25 minutes. I mean, it was busy, but most people were at the bar. They also structure their menu in a very strange way- they have "snacks" ($5) "small" ($6-11) "medium" ($12-25) and "large" plates.($25+) Large plates are going to be your average meal you'd get any where else - the meat, veggies, and side. Given the price range we figured small plates would make good "appetizers" but $9 for the meat balls only meant 4 small meatballs. For our group that meant one meatball per person. The small plates are meant to be shared with two people I think, so if you're with a group buckle down and pay up! That being said, the mac and wieners small plate was freaking fantastic. The shrimp and grits too! Wow very good. I want to add, the presentation of the dishes is great. Our large plates - the penne with veil and beef tenderloin were tasty, but absolutely not within that price range tasty. For $20 pasta you think I could get some other veggies in my sauce but you'd be wrong. Other people mentioned portion size. It is small compared to other restaurants. In America our portions are very exaggerated so while I think it's good, you don't drop the portion and raise the price. Drop the costs and speed up food and this easily would be 5/5. At the end of the night it was an interesting mix of social/sports bar and gourmet restaurant. Try it if you're in the area at least once, but only for drinks and grazing- not Dinner.

This was a great choice for dinner last night so thanks for all the Yelpers that advised. I love the atmosphere, drinks, food, and service. If I lived here, this would be my hangout for sure.

We ate at s.a.l.t. the first time on the first night of restaurant week. We were seated promptly, the staff was friendly and our waitress was attentive; this is about all I can say nice about the experience. At no time during the meal was the restaurant full. Immediately we were notified that the grilled pound cake dessert was sold out and before we could get to the dessert course the creme burlee sold out. My husband's brisket appetizer had big chunks of fat and should have never made it out of the kitchen; the replacement was fine. My salmon was unevenly cooked. My husband's flat iron steak okay but the potatoes were very bland. The dirt pie dessert would have gotten good reviews at a pot luck, but was far below what I expect from a nice restaurant. The meal was not a good value even at restaurant week prices, plus our meal lasted two hours due to the slowness of the kitchen. We've already told friends not to waste their time and money eating here.

The vibe is hip and decor is solid. I suggest you start with a Winter Old Fashioned; trust me I have tested a lot of them to make sure they are great. Have a small bowl of the almonds which are excellent. I have tried almost everything on the menu. Every thing is good and some are great. I suggest you order a lot ... tapas style ... and just try everything. I look forward to spring (don't we all) when they open the bar garage doors to the street. This is going to be a busy place for a long time.

I have been to SALT several times now and love the different menu items every time I go, some of my favorites being the pork belly and Caesar salad. My one disappointment has always been the dessert menu, I have tried everything on the menu and I just don't feel like the options are at the same level as the food options! Please please give me a great chocolate cake and I'd be happy!!

I really like this place. Wonderful view in the summer with the garage doors open. Very good tap beer selection. The food is good but that is it. Seems they don't want to spice it up too much and play it safe. Great bartenders but the food needs to step it up! Don't be afraid of spice!!!!!!

This is a great place sit down relax and not be in a rush to eat. Their small plate is meant to be a taste. It's not like your average appetizers this is a higher end place where they want you to stay and enjoy and TASTE your food, enjoy your food not to inhale it and leave. Their menu is comfort foods with a twist I love this place and will always be a customer here. The ambiance is to put you into a stay awhile mood and just sit back and enjoy yourself. When we go we order several different foods off the medium list and share them with the rest of the family that way we can get a taste of everything. I appreciate that they use local ingredients it promotes our local businesses. They have a strong sense of community at this restaurant. Their menu is almost always a little different every time we go so it's nice get a taste of everything while it's there. The pig scraple is amazing! I've never had a bad experience here but I feel the staff doesn't want to bother you while you enjoy your food, personally I don't like to be asked a hundred times while I'm eating if the food is good. Ask me once and I'm good.

This is my new favorite place! Finally Green Bay is getting with the times and S.A.L.T is the new hip, happening place. It has a friendly, classy yet comfortable feel and great price points! It helps that the waitstaff and bartenders KNOW the menu, too. I love the Beet Salad, Mac-n-cheese w/ bacon and Beef Stroganoff... Oh, and you can't forget the Winter Old Fashioned. It's the best!

We walked in there on a Friday night, 7:30. The restaurant area had 5 open tables, and the bar was semi-busy. We asked for table for 2, we didn't have a reservation. They would not seat us in the dining room, the only place we could eat was at the bar. They would not allow us to wait for a table since we didn't have reservations. I have never been to a restaurant (with 2 people!) that didn't allow walk-in's, even in large cities. Your food might be great, but your service is terrible from the beginning.

The best new restaurant in the Green Bay Area by far! If we were visiting Chicago or Minneapolis, we would seek this place out, it is that good. The decor is comfortable yet in very good taste, and the food is amazing - Midwest comfort food with a contemporary, chef-driven twist. We attended on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed by 6:30, 3 weeks after opening. I had an open faced meatloaf sandwich with bacon/brown ale gravy, Saxony cheese and mashed potatoes with peas - awesome taste but a reasonable portion so not as heavy as it sounds. The bourbon creme brûlée for dessert was to die for. We will go back often!

Amazing restaurant! The staff are quirky, creative, and knowledgable making for a well developed and professional atmosphere. The food was impeccable along with timing. Highly suggested. Order the shrimp and grits!

Food is good. I had the veggie burger and duck with couscous. My only complaint is I called in my order for pick up on a Wednesday night. First they weren't going to let me place an order over the phone; then when they finally said I could what they had available did not match their online menu. If you change your menu daily, why put a menu up online?

A great intoduction to S.A.L.T. for 3 first timers. Each entree was excellent (salmon, steak, and Kim-Chi). The fried green tomatoe appetizer was also very good. Nice environment inside and out. Definitely will go back. A great addition to De Pere.

We loved the decor and ambiance. The food was good, not outstanding. My husband's trout was a little over cooked. I would defiantly go there for drinks/appetizers at the bar again. Our waitress was very friendly and brought us truffles free of charge since they forgot bacon on one of the hamburgers. I look forward to going there in the summer with the garage doors open.

Full disclosure, I have only eaten here once but was so impressed. I liked the atmosphere. They have a cool patio and even the dining room is great. Although I wish they would seat people further apart. We were in between 2 tables and we could all hear each others conversations. Our waitress was amazing. She timed everything perfectly. Now for the food. It was really good, especially the fried california rolls and the truffle fries. The only fries I have ever taken home as leftovers and was able to eat the next day! We also had shrimp (very good) and some hummus. I was pleasantly surprised and would go there again. It was kind of pricey but only because we ordered a lot. We both had a lot of leftovers....so for can be reasonable if you don't overdue it.

SALT is OK. I went here based on great reviews from my colleagues, but was a little underwhelmed with the experience. The decor of the place is great and their outdoor sitting area is very cosy. But aside from that everything about this place is just about ok. Some of the small plates were good, such as the pork belly, shrimp with grits and mussels. But the remaining dishes, including the entrees and drinks were not very good. Probably wouldn't go here again since there are much better places in Green Bay serving similar food in a similar price range.

I am originally from the Green Bay area and have lived in Milwaukee for just about 10 years now, and can see the trend of "small plates" finally making its way up north. (People, that is not a dig at all. I LOVE were I am from, I LOVE Green Bay. This statement is not meant in a snobby manner at all!) A friend and I dined here right before Christmas. She loved her first time there and I am always up for something new so I was in! Liked: The decor was warm and inviting. We sat at the bar (as I normally do) and found it to be pleasant. Problems: Service was terrible. The bartender pretty much ignored us at all times. it was tough to get a menu, tough to order, and food came out cold-ish. Our wines tasted funny. They were old, left open for sure. It made us both a little sick to our stomach. i also should mention the "Bartender" did not know what a "Cabernet" was... I should have known. Our food was also not that great. For a place that calls itself "SALT" they sure as hell did not use any! We had mac and cheese that I could have done better with Kraft, and the shrimp dish tasted like the bottom of a fish tank...metallic almost? Just dirty really. We did not eat a bite of it and of course the bartender didn't say a word. I think these people mean well, but its like they cared more about what the place looks like and the pretentious nature of the dining type than the food itself. It will survive on the money of people who are trying to look and feel "better" than this area, trying to associate themselves with something "cool and hip" . Bottom line: I would take a night at the townie bar eating a burger or fish fry over this any day. And by the way... my friend and I were sick all night after as well. A shame.

The kind of place NE Wisconsin has sorely lacked, until now. S.A.L.T is the kind of restaurant that is easy to find these days in places like Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Madison, etc. I was very happy to find out about a new restaurant, that isn't a sports bar, or a "bar and grill". Nothing wrong with any of that, but this area has far too many places where you can watch the game, get a burger or a wrap sandwich with fries, Friday fish, and the same 5 domestic beers on tap. S.A.L.T. is casual, relaxed but has a modern, hip feel. It's got a communal vibe to it, and to that point, the menu encourages sharing. Most of the menu is devoted to dishes you can share and generally priced around $6-12. There are a few larger entrees as well, but nothing over $30. My wife and I shared some cheese and tapenade, some Shrimp with cream cheese grits, Gravy Fries with cheese curds (my only beef-- seriously, just call it Poutine) as well as a Fried Oyster Po'Boy. All were excellent. This is not fancy food by any means, but solid flavors paired together well. Just about everybody will find something to like here. This place also has a special focus on craft beer, which also sets it apart from many places around here. Excellent, and what I would presume to be a rotating tap list. We had Founders Centennial IPA and Dale's Pale Ale, both of which are not seen often on bar and restaurant menus here. This is a busy place. Told to expect about a 90 minute wait on Friday. We found a spot at the bar-- and had a table in a little less than an hour. During the summer, when they can open up the garage doors in front of the bar, this place will be even more popular. S.A.L.T. is a winner, and has every indication of being a game changer in the NE WI dining scene. I'd expect to see many new, and existing places to take a cue from what they are doing, based on the response.

We have been here for dinner 3 times. Coming from a bigger city it is one of very few places in this area that offers some more contemporary & seasonal menu options. Oysters, charcuterie & cheese plates, risotto, and other original dishes, a few full size but mostly tapas portions. We have been satisfied with most of the dishes. The pork belly, the shrimp tacos, the sweet pea soup, the beet salad are all solid options. The steak entree was disappointing - not awful but not something we couldn't make at home. Also there is bacon in many of the dishes which I am not a big fan of. The service is a little slow. Usually it takes 10-15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Overall we continue to go back, knowing what works and what to expect.

Great people. Billy the owner is a great guy. Bar scenes are very metropolitan lofty. Great beer list. Really inventive Midwest comfort food. This place is the best new restaurant in Green Bay

My wife and I went here with another couple that enjoy food with quality ingredients in unique atmospheres. I had heard some good things about the food and atmosphere and generally this place lived up to that, BUT there is not much competition in the region. In fact, while the food was good, I have had much better. Beyond having good food and an interesting setting, service makes the experience! We entered confident with a reservation in hand. We ended up standing there dumbfounded as apparent servers and a possible manager repeatedly walk by us. After about 5 minutes, another group walked in and experienced the same thing. I will say that something like this, confusion upon entrance, sets a negative precedent for the rest of the evening. Finally, somebody got to us and seemed to be annoyed that we were a bit early for the reservation (10 minutes or so). We were seated and they did not take drink orders and took forever to get back to us. Rule number one at a place like this especially when you are busy, GET DRINKS TO YOUR PATRONS. Dinner service was fine, nothing special. In the end, specific situations soured us on this restaurant. Since then, I have heard rumors about the poor attitudes of the owners, which I can only guess comes through in their business. I am not going back and am encouraging other not to patronize this place.

Try the shrimp and cheese grits - Absolutely wonderful the Trout entrée was fantastic. Salt also has a great Bearlist and wonderful old fashions.
